Time to market was key to the successful delivery of this product. The manufacturing technology and process required to meet financial payback for this product did not exist. These would need to be developed in parallel with the product design to ensure project timelines did not blow out.

Lead and manage the NPI manufacturing development team. Represent manufacturing department on project XFT. Develop strategy and process to de-risk ever changing product design. Provide KPI's to management in relation to manufacturing development such as: MRL, CoGs, Capex formulation, production capacities and recourse and project planning.
Result:
A manufacturing NPI manufacturing development team was formed. Early engagement with the product design engineers enabled valuable knowledge to be gathered upfront to support future manufacturing prototyping initiatives and de-risking activities. This enabled the manufacturing process development activities to happen concurrently and the time from design freeze to product launch was minimized.

A production capacity model was developed which communicated to an offline sales forecasting tool and linked this information to a tool combining production scenarios on a weekly and monthly basis. This could then be used to highlight production capacity versus sales forecast and indicate when either more capacity would need to be brought on line or when production capacity would become available if sales forecast was dropping.
